dr. pepper slurpees

I have an obsession. Or an addiction. I'm not quite sure what the difference is, but either way, I like DP a lot. I had been good at resisting my constant desire to purchase a DP, until of course my office started selling cans for a quarter...

To the point... a couple weeks ago I discovered a magical 7-11 in SLC that sells... wait for it... Dr. Pepper Slurpees! Crazy, I know. My mind was blown and if it hadn't been 8 am and I hadn't already purchased a hot chocolate, I would've purchased one on the spot. My friend Dee, another DP lover, and I determined we would return, but due to a brownie catastrophe we lost time and our opportunity.

I returned to that magical 7-11 a week ago to surprise to my fellow DP addict sister. I had been waiting for this moment for weeks and as my sister and I entered that 7-11 I could sense something was wrong. . . the slurpee machine looked different and my worst fears had come true. The DP slurpee was currently unavailable!

I almost cried. But I remained hopeful that someday I would partake of the DP slurpee. Well, yesterday, on our way to SLC, Dee and I stopped by the magical 7-11 (after calling, of course, to verify the availability of the DP slurpee), walked right in, and bought ourselves DP slurpees!

Of course, it didn't quite taste as delicious as real DP. In fact, it tasted a little like swedish fish. But see all that joy on our faces? You can't fake that kind of childlike happiness!

(and yes, there are curlers in my hair. The people at 7-11 didn't judge me... And neither should you)
