I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in "Savior of the World" at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake. I was not only surrounded by amazing people, who have truly become some of my favorite people, but my testimony in my Savior Jesus Christ has been strengthened as I have shared my testimony and have been taught by the testimonies of those in the cast and the audience. Over the years I have seen this production change lives, including my own. Every year is special. There is always more to learn, more to apply, more to share.
This season I have learned and felt of God's love for each of His children. I have felt of His desire for each of us to come unto Him, and be healed. I have learned what it means to be a family. I have watched families in my district love each other, the families in the whole cast love each other, and seen and felt an outpouring of love from each member of the cast to those around them. What great examples! I have learned that marriage and families are hard, but they are worth it. Our Father in heaven wants us to learn what being a family means-- what it means to be a mother, father, sister, brother, cousin, aunt, etc. For us to love as Christ loves, we must learn what it means to love unconditionally. We don't love someone because they listen to us or they always do what is right. We love them because we love them. We care about them. We know who they are and what they have the potential to become. Isn't that our calling? To lift, support and strengthen our families? Our immediate families as well as all those who are children of God?
"We are God's children, and if we ever got through our
heads thoroughly and understood that completely,
we would never do a small thing, we would never say a cross word.
We would not use bad language. We would not criticize anybody.
We would love everyone the way the Savior loves us."
-Marjorie Pay Hinckley
This season I was also filled with so much gratitude as I saw more completely the blessings the Lord has given to us. The Plan of Happiness is the greatest gift! Our Heavenly Father has given us the opportunity to come to the earth, to prove ourselves, to become like him and through His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ and His atonement, we have been provided with a way to return to Him, through faith and repentance. What a blessing! Every night I performed I found myself just thanking my Heavenly Father for this blessing of life! And I determined to be better.
"For we have not followed cunningly devised fables,
when we made known unto you the power
and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,
but were eyewitnesses of His majesty."
-2 Peter 1:16
I add my testimony to Peter's, that He lives. He loves us. He will come again! If we put our faith in Him and His plan, we will be blessed and filled with joy! He love is powerful and changes lives. It has changed mine.
